Lest We Forget

It’s less than one week until ANZAC day which will mark the 100th anniversary of the 1915 landings at Gallipoli.
Throngs of people will line streets throughout the country to watch veterans of subsequent conflicts form up and parade through their hometown.

I too will assemble at dawn in front of my local cenotaph. I too will bow my head and listen to the description of faraway poppy fields of a century ago.
